- Acme Wire to be featured in business insert
- Acme's donation of lacrosse helmets.
On March 14, 2006, members of the Stonington High School Men's Lacrosse Team visited Acme Wire Products Co., Inc. in Mystic, CT to tour Acme's fabrication facility and watch lacrosse masks being manufactured with a combination of proprietary and robotic forming and welding operations. The culmination of the tour was a donation of 24 helmets to the team. Typically, helmets are the largest expense in funding a lacrosse team. The lacrosse teams at Stonington High are not funded by the school so all expenses for the sport must be covered by either fund raisers or in-kind donations. Last year Acme Wire Products donated 24 face masks to the Stonington High Women's Lacrosse Team.
Acme Wire Products is the largest domestic manufacturer of lacrosse masks. In addition to providing components to the sporting goods industry, Acme also supplies custom wire components to industries such as medical, electronic, food processing, safety, office equipment and original equipment markets.
