UConn Family Business Publication Profiles Acme Wire Products

Acme Wire Products Co. Inc. is one of 23 Connecticut-based businesses profiled in a special publication celebrating the 15th anniversary of the University of Connecticut’s Family Business Program.
The publication credited the custom wire fabrication company’s courage in accepting only business that fits its niche as one of the key reasons for Acme Wire Products’ 40-year history of success.
“We truly value every client,” said Michael Planeta, who, along with his siblings Edward Planeta and Mary Planeta Fitzgerald, purchased the business from their father in 2000.
“We listen carefully to their goals, and we design a process and product that will meet their short- and long-term needs,” Michael said in the profile.
For Acme Wire Products’ part, Mary credited the company’s participation in the UConn Family Business Program as one of the factors in the custom wire fabrication company’s successful transition.
Founded in 1970, Mystic, CT-based Acme Wire Products designs and creates a wide range of custom engineered wire products precision and wireform solutions.
